Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Cheque PresentationMonday, 4th August 2008

Today at the Five Bells at Morton a cheque was officially handed to the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance by Brian. This cheque for £860 was from the proceeds of the Steam Weekend. When the money taken by the air ambulance stall and collection tins were added then the total figure raised due to the steam fair was nearer £1200.
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Logo The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance is a dedicated medical air service which first began operations in Lincolnshire in April 1994.

Based at RAF Waddington, south of Lincoln, and unaffected by road congestion, country roads, heavy vehicles or road works the Helicopter can reach any destination in Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire in 19 minutes.

In England and Wales there are sixteen dedicated Air Ambulance operations flying a total of 22 helicopters and all are reliant upon charitable support. An Air Ambulance provides an important and sometimes vital additional patient care service for our most critically ill and injured patients.

Vintage Police CarA Police Presence for 2006!

Everything went pretty much to plan and the Morton Steam and Vintage Weekend was well received by all who attended, the local police were impressed with the parking facilities and we were impressed with their vintage police car.

The main purpose of the event was to gather friends made at rallies across the area together in an informal atmosphere, little did the team know that a large proportion of the local area would turn out. The informal atmosphere was maintained throughout the event and a large sum of money raised for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Before all the exhibitors left, mutterings were abound about a date for 2007, something which the team had not even considered as this was supposedly a one off event. The event was such a success that it was agreed to set a date for 2007.

The organisers would like to thank all the vehicle owners, stall holders, helpers and visitors for making the show an outright success.

In 2007 the successful venue and format will be maintained and exhibitors are currently filling our postbags with completed entry forms and requests to stay for the weekend.

Anyone wishing to bring their vehicles for the 2007 event and join in the fun are urged to complete their entry forms as soon as possible, forms can be downloaded from this site by clicking the button on the left.

Thanks again for your support in 2006 and we hope to see many more new friends in 2007.
